I have set a daily reminder on my cell phone calendar for 3 different times throughout the to call in as well as set up a daily reminder through my G-mail Calendar to call in. I set it at three different times just in case I didn't hear the first reminder or was in a meeting for a time, etc. I too don't want to get screwed especially with being so close.
