So true. As I said in my other post, my reasons for using anything were very different than those I was stuck in a smoke filled basement with for years. I didn't talk about my life or my history in meetings. I made the mistake of telling my sponsor some deep dark secrets because I was told once I "released" my feelings to my sponsor, that she would say all the right things and guide me to enlightenment. ha ha ha. Yeah...this is what happens when we believe an ex bartender can be a licensed therapist and heal wounds. NOT. She had me write down the things I did. I really thought she was going to read through them, walk me through each one and say some magical words and give me some profound guidance in overcoming them. Nah...she took her cigarette lighter and lit the paper on fire and said, "there, it's done." ha ha ha. No effing wonder people relapse. If that's the healing solution.
