I tarry not within labor's day
within the gay ray's of the sun
for the want of honest labor's pay

Then I move on, on my merry way
to the next town's joy to be done
I tarry not within labor's day

Always around the corner's next way
'cause my heart and soul is gay-run
for the want of honest labor's pay

With new sights, to always be at bay
as my feet play on roads to come
I tarry not within labor's day

'Cause I'm the traveller not to stay
after an earnest day's begun

With nothing left behind me to stay
in my heart always to play some
