Subject: "Saint's Lament"

TITLE:"Saint's Lament"

She reaches to the heaven with her blue eyes,
face inundated with tears.
To forgo the pleasures of this place,
to abstain from sin.
To see his face only in dreams by the cover of red roses near the cross
of the tree.
Many mansions are there of only the best cedar known
the streets of yellow-gold like a shiny river. If it were not true Jesus
would not have told
them about its beauty.
For now she must walk the dirty roads.
In dreams she sees perfection but in her waking hours finds little -if any
glory.
To emigrate to a higher place this homesickness she feels at evening-tide
pulls at her heart.
She fights the weakness of
the flesh. For she knows she is only dust taken from beneath an old
apple grove a very
long time ago.
The things of earth sometimes egregious to her hungry soul -
flagrant to bitterness and to pain.
Heaven's light elusive in her eye sight all dressed in black and white
and the gray of the day.
she bends to pray.
She is eminent within heaven, because her prayers come with the scent
of a pure heart.
As she gets up from the ground once more looks to the doors of
paradise in the pale blue
sky
with sounds that ring forever.
