I am not allowed to get strep...I have a narrow heart valve and strep can be very dangerous for it. Anytime I'm exposed to it, I have to be treated for it. People running around in public with it and going to school with it means (assuming it's found out) that someone in my situation has to take antibiotics as a precaution, which is something I really hate to do too much of.

Luckily ds has only had strep once, when he was really little. Amazing, considering the number of strep warnings I've seen at school and day care, and the fact that our little next-door neighbor used to run over to our house (barefoot in winter, no less) to announce that her strep test was positive. Grrr.....
