So he has committed a crime. But they are transferring him to a halfway house for the last 180 days of his sentence.

I agree, they can't keep him past his time, but why put him in a halfway house, which is not exactly maximum security?

And since he has served his time, hasn't committed any sex crimes in the past, and is not listed in the sex offender registry, how can they "warn" the community about his release?
