Actually, I didn't much like the Mars series. They bored me to tears and it was all I could do to get through them. But, Like you said, I also enjoyed the scientific aspects of his work. I think that with Dune, KSR could do some great work, as most writers who have even a thread of talent could if given a premise like Dune.

Honestly, I think KSR pulled some ideas from the Dune series. I was constantly reminded of Dune throughout Robinson's books.

I hope the movies of his books are a little more entertaining.
