When the test for becoming a Reverend Mother is described (was it in one of the prequels?), don't they use the generic term "poisons?" Water of Life and spice essence are discussed in more detail in Dune and the sequels. However, those later books also say the spice is central in the abilities and rituals of the BG. Does this infer that the "poison" used in the Reverend Mother test may be spice -based, after all?
