Sorry, I tend to reply to the messages first before reading everyone else's reply. I like to reply directly to the person in my own words. Sorry, if I repeated...but hey, great minds...

Anyway, I do believe that Paul knew his ancestry when he got out into the desert after the Harkonnen attack at Arakeen in Dune. The spice is everywhere and Paul says that it is changing him. He then realizes his true lineage, a mixture of Atreides from his father and Harkonnen from his mother. This is before Alia is even born and even before he has taken the Water of Life (in the mini-series, he discerns it after he takes the water of life). Paul is having visions and glimpses of the past and Other Memory very early.

I will search for an exact quote. Is this an example of Other memory? Don't know, but it's looking that way.
