Subject: I was under the impression he knew the whole time

I was under the impression that he knew about the contraceptives the whole time. And I think Cannabist supports this in his earlier messages if I am not mistaken.

If I understood correctly Jay was saying he knew about the contraceptives and he basically put off telling Chani because he knew that she would then try the special diet and conceive and then she would die. He wanted to keep her around as long as possible. And that act was selfish because the Jihad lasted longer.

What I am saying is if the Jihad was going to last anyway, it didn't matter what Paul did in terms of having the children. He could have waited 1 year, or ten years, the outcome would have been the same.
Alternatively, my theory is that he saw what was going to happen in his visions and he had to wait for everything to be in a certain place. None of the stuff that happened could have happened earlier because of circumstances. Basically he was waiting for the right time. And the reason he was waiting for that specific time was because that was the best possibility in his visions. All the other possibilities weren't as good for humanity.
So I am saying he waited because he was waiting for the best possibility, not simply for Chani's sake, but humanity's, and that it was selfless because in this possibility he lost the most.
