My Dune memory is a little rusty, but in the mini-series Irulan had a more active role then the book I'm sure. Those scenes with her watching Feyd were complete fabrication weren't they?

It wasn't perfection either is my point but I also enjoyed it. I'm waiting to see the Special Edition of Dune that has an extra 30 minutes added into it bumping the total time up to 300 min.

The best thing I can say about the Dune mini-series is at least it didn't end with a rainstorm like Lynch's movie did. Frank Herbert never forgave him for that. Rain on Arakis like that would have killed or severely hurt the worms !
