I was just exploring the DUNE 7 site... and 3 paragraphs on a couple pages caught my eyes...

Inside those boxes, Brian discovered the full and complete outline for DUNE 7, the final DUNE novel Frank Herbert had intended to write, which wraps up all the story threads from the previous six books.

The important part I pick from that is the FULL and complete outline for DUNE 7. So that tells us DUNE 7 will be all Frank's IDEAS. But Mostly Brian and Kevin's writings.

Brian and Kevin do intend to write DUNE 7, but it will not be the next project in line. Due to the complexity of the outline, many things need to be established in earlier novels, and it also seems fitting that DUNE 7 should be the last Dune novel published.

Here, it's the part ""many things need to be established in earlier novels"". This seems to fit the plot idea of Omnius returning being speculated about on this board.

A great deal of vital information has been set up in the first two prequel trilogies, and now a large readership -- who had never before finished reading HERETICS OF DUNE and CHAPTERHOUSE: DUNE -- is ready for the rest of the story after the end of CHAPTERHOUSE.

two important clues here, ""vital information has been set up in the first two prequel trilogies"" AND ""rest of the story after the end of CHAPTERHOUSE"" These would seem to indicate the presence of Omnius in D7, and that D7 takes place relatively soon after C:D.

And my last point before summation, on the time between books. Frank Herbert in his own words called the First three books a Trilogy. And they spanned a time frame of approximately 30 years (Paul age 15 until his death in his early 40's.)

God Emperor was meant to be a bridge to the next Trilogy

The final Trilogy was to be HoD, C:D and DUNE 7. I think it would not be far fetched to think these would also take place win a span similar to that of the first Trilogy. So that we are dealing with either Murbella and Gang, or the next generation with Sheeana and Duncan's offspring maybe.

As for the Cyborg being the enemy chasing the whores.. no I don't think that's it. The Fish Speakers did not like Face Dancers, it's logical to assume that animosity only grew in the original scattering. The Face Dancers evolved into Handlers, the Fish Speakers into Whores, and Futars are a creation of the scattering axlotl tanks.

Remember in Chapterhouse how futars kept asking Lucilla if she was Handler.. they would know the difference between cyborg and human right?

And my last thought.. the drug that the whores use, it's Amal isn't it :-) !! First created in the Prelude to DUNE series, then perfected by the scattered Tleilaxu after the death of Leto II
