That clarifies things a bit for me, I guess I never realized it was that simple. Always figured there was more to it.
But to pursue my original question, what purpose does Sheeana really serve? To go along with the popular theories, she is bringing along Atreides genes, meaning they and future offspring will be invisible to prescience. But there are so many Atreides descendants, it could have been anyone. So there is something important about her ability with the worms. I know I don't believe that all we have in store for us is Omnius, and I do find idea of prescient machines valid, but where does Sheeana fit into all this? And the worm, for that matter?
Could they be the beginnings of a weapon against the machines? I think in Butlerian Jihad, the Omnius probe that lands on Dune is destroyed by a worm, could that be foreshadowing? Imagine Sheeana directing a worm army against the machines, all of them invisible because of the Atreides genes??? Maybe Scytale could engineer this telepathic ability into humans, making an interstellar army able to communicate instantly?
