if you all remember, In the Butlerian Jihad, the tleilax were flesh merchants, providing spare parts for the humans that survived the machine attacks. They may have had some religious beliefs then, but they dealt quite freely with the rest of the universe in providing their services. They saw that as a necessity of survival, and did not see it as a conflict with their "true believer" vision seen in the latter times, chronologically speaking.

The BG are decendants of the women that dominated the planet (God help me, I can't remember the name!!) that sent out the Mental bombs that were so effective against Omnius and the machines on Geidi Prime. they come from completely divergent backgrounds, other than they were both humans.

The most religious people in the whole of the series are the zen-sunni wanderers and the shiia the were captured and used as slaves on the various worlds. they were the most militant in defense of their freedom and faith.

A thought concerning the Tleilax women. If everyone remembers, no one outside the Tleilax has seen a female of the species. Remember that we were given a glimpse into the society in House Corrino of what capacity women held in the order of things. It seems to me that they were lobotomized "factories" that had no free will, therefore, no control over their body chemistry.
