IDAHO, I must dissagree on your version of OM. The very fact that the the BG have a trial of abomination suggests that many or all of RMs do have discussions within OM and consult with the memories found there. I don't think the ancestral memories are actually alive but instead are the imprints of the ancesters personality and persona. Yet, one can still converse with that persona or imprint and have them respond the way they would have in real life. How else would a RM become possesed?
The reason I feel Paul was overwhelmed when confronted by Leto's OM is because the vision was so vivid. Leto would have no other way to communicate other than OM and that's what he used. Paul was unprepared for the sharpness of being totally immersed in OM and became disoriented. Having been able to develope a self persona before OM was given to him, Paul would have had a sort of "shield" in his own memories to compete with OM. Leto had none of this and his OM would have been sharp indeed.
Yes, I feel Paul had OM. He was the KH. I think Pre-born OM is exactly the same as anyone else's only that they have a higher suseptibility to abomination due to them not being able to develope a persona first.
