I am so sorry about your loss. Pets are God's gifts to people, and they are special in every way. There is much to learn from them, and so much joy in sharing their lives. It is tragic that they have to leave us, and a blessing to bring another one into your home.

The Esau choice was a good call. Althea seems a bit much, and Jack Straw, Casey, Bertha, Pearly, Sugar[ee], or Cassidy all seem a bit trite. Maybe Ruben, Cherise, or Annie (subtle, from "It Must Have Been The Roses"). You could go straight to the top and try Jerome, and that certainly can be turned into a handy nickname! Or Delilah Jones, or Felina from "El Paso."

Country boy that I am at heart, I like Mr. Charlie or Tennessee Jed (but both are a little awkward.) Bobbie McGee might not work either, but the song is one of the best. Then there's Jimmy or Stephen, but also trite.

If it is a girl, my choice probably would be Peggy, with a nice abbreviation to Peg. Sweet name, beautiful song.

There is so much to choose from, and I've gone on for too long. God bless you, and as the pain of parting with Iko is transferred to your love for your new one, here comes sunshine into your life.

Take care, and peace... chuck
