Bogart's in Cincy, imho, is terrible. It is a large rectangular box and they always over sell it. It is always completely chaotic in there, best place to dance is in the back of the floor near the soundboard but then you have neverending beer lines to contend with, or get there early enough and grab a spot in the tiny little balcony, this sucks too if you're closterphobic. Forget about extracurricular activities, security bites. Best part about the place is La Rosa's pizza down the street, ya just gotta try it. But don't take my word for it, I'll still go and have a great time, seen alot of great shows there but I usually end up shmoozing in the back with friends.

The Newport in Columbus, on the other hand, I just love. It is an old theater. Usually a great crowd, never seems to be too packed. Have actually seen times where there is no one waiting in line for beer, ya know that's a good sign. Definately a better layout and there is a horseshoe shaped balcony that goes around the whole place which I gotta tell ya, the sound up there in the middle is just awesome, that is where you will find me! Security is generally laid back and the whole place is very danceable. If you gotta choose between the two places, this is the one.
