He said okay, but it was very clear he thought I shouldn't go. I wouldn't, but this is seriously a life long friend. James and I grew up together. His mom hosted my wedding shower and she and my mom are very very close. Honestly I wasn't all that close to his dad (his mom's another story) because in addition to being a school Sup he was a professional fisherman. Just wonder how many people actually know a professional fisherman LOL.

Anyway he had surgery on the 2nd to repair a brain anueryism and it was supposed to be minor for that kind of surgery. Well it wasn't it was much much much much worse when they got in there. Part of it had hardened and that's why they got false test results etc. The doctor said he wouldn't have lived more than 3-4 months anyway and in that time would have become an ivalid. However they had to make the decision to discontinue life support and it's been a very stressful ordeal for them. James and Lisa drove to Pampa for Chris' Dad's funeral and stuff. They are a very nice couple and they don't have many friends. I went to see him yesterday and he's not doing well at all. I just feel like I need to go to the funeral. If they make to big a stink I'll take a 1/2 day and they can stick it. Somethings are just more important than 1st day inservice KWIM?

BTW I hate AR too and am not happy that part of Ryan's reading grade this year will be based on accumulated AR points. Ummmm I will be addressing it early on.
