OK girls...I'm just gonna copy and paste from my blog because I'm pooped and getting ready to go to bed but I wanted to let you guys know about my CRAZY ASS evening!!

Love ya guys,
Verna

Omg ok today was a great day. The sun was out, the pool was clear and we had a great time swimming with Leslie and her kids at my pool. I opened the pool for Donna today since she had a long evening. She came down to relieve me around 3ish and I spent another 2 hrs there hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather. My tan is better than ever and I really enjoyed the day today.

I got home and got dressed. I then got dinner started as the kids played outside and Mike was watching TV. Dinner was done and I asked Mike to get the kids. TJ was in. Michaela came in but said she didn't know where Savannah was so of course, I figured she was playing in the front of the yard under the tree (which is one of her favorite places to play). We looked in the front, couldn't find her. Looked in the back, couldn't find her. Looked in the storage shed, in the house, etc and I couldn't find her. I started to panic. Mike hopped in the car and went around the whole neighborhood including the one behind us. He looked in the pool area and the tornado shelter area and No Savannah. I began to think the worst and went ahead and called the police. 911 dispatchers took down my info and I frantically looked for the disk that the police station made for us last spring at the Literacy Carnival that had her child info if she ever became missing.

The Fire Department had an Engine out looking for my daughter. I went ahead and gave them a picture of her so they had an accurate description.

Thankfully for me I have WONDERFUL neighbors who stick together and came out looking for her. The neighbors across the street came looking, so did Debbie and Ricky. Jacob's Mom went driving for her and so Donna and alot of other families I had never met went looking for her. I am so honored to have these people as my neighbors. Something told me to go check the house one more time. I went ahead and looked inside the house again and yelled Savannah's name. I got to Michaela's room and screamed her name again. Low and behold the bed shook...my baby was underneith covered and asleep. ALL THIS TIME she was asleep. I just grabbed her and cried for a few minutes. I then called 9-1-1 again and cancelled the search. I brought her out and let my neighbors know everything was ok. I appologized to everyone and hugged them all to thank them for taking time out to help us in a big time of need. I felt like the biggest retard in the world for her being here in my own home but just the fact that she is safe and sound is all that matters.

The police car pulled up at the the same time and came in to do a check of the house... I guess it's their policy to make sure we weren't ghetto child abusers or something and he was very cool and even told us we did the right thing. I appologized again for troubling them but they were just happy that everything turned out great.

So tonight, hug your kids...I hope none of you ever have to go thru this but it just made me realize even more how much I love these kids and I don't know what I'd do if anything ever happened to them. It's just plain scary with all the weird fucks out there.

I'm gonna go chill out now. It's been an EXTREMELY STRESSFUL night so please understand if I didn't return any calls tonight. I am just happy to have my daughter safe and sound.

God Bless the Wichita PD and Fire Department and ALL of my neighbors who helped us in this time of need. Thank God it was all just a big drama fest but knowing that they were here for us makes me realize that there are still good people out here in this bizarre world.
