I was amazed at how churlish and childish they were. You know what their big gripes were? That the teachers could wear whatever THEY wanted and that wasn't fair to their little darlings. A whole crew of parents demanded that teachers wear the same uniform as the students!?!? That tells you how respected we are.

BTW...I've had two poo-in-your-face comments this week. One was by a para. She claims she was a classroom teacher in KCMO. I can't imagine. She said she heard there are some part-time Title positions in the district that are still open and told me that she's thinking of applying because she wants a fun job that really doesn't have any responsibilities. Um...nice perception of what I do.

Then, today I had ANOTHER TEACHER ask me what I'm doing this year...whether I'm really teaching again or if I'm still just doing Title I.

Whatever.

Anyway...I hope your boys had a great first day!!! Our district doesn't allow requests, lol. Picking Teiguen's teacher happened because I knew the secretary would let me. I'm hoping Liam's teacher is good for him. He's a young guy...this may be his first year teaching. I guess we'll see how it goes. With Liam the academics worry me much less than the issue of control. The teacher seemed very layed back...which is what Liam needs!

Wish me luck tomorrow. Teiguen has one more day of freedom...keep your fingers crossed that he'll have a good start on Thursday!
