I like that the children don't have to worry their heads about what so and so has that they don't at least a school. I remember I wanted to have Dittos (yes I know I'm dating myself) soooo bad. I had to wear hand me downs from my grandma's boss who was really short (bless her soul). They were nice clothes but a 10 year old (even in the 70s) didn't want to wear polyester...lol. They didn't go with my vans! LOL LOL LOL I only had the one pair and I begged and begged - they were the best birthday present ever! I wore them until my mom tossed them because they were literally falling off my feet ...sigh...good times...

Oh sorry...anyway, I remember being worried about that stuff. I remember thinking when we went to go pick up my mom's friend's daughter from Catholic school that I wished I could go there (again money) JUST so I could wear the uniform and not feel so outta place.

My friend KD and his head teacher decided to wear the uniform when the kids had to (they do uniforms in my home town now) and LOVED it! They didn't have to worry about getting dirty ect. Of course, they were in the special ed pre-school setting. I have to admit I LOVED the fact that we wore scrubs at ours for the same reason and our kids weren't special ed. I felt like...at least I don't ever have to worry about what to wear will it get dirty and I can add to my wardrobe as I can afford it (we were only issued 2 sets as part time even though I worked 5 days a week and sometimes 40 hours a week when needed)...lol

I agree though Lori, if no one brushes their hair you can still tell a lot...Lauren has the kind of hair that gets messy easily (like mine) she frizzes and/or tangles up within an hour. This is why she spends most of her day in a pony or piggy tails...I really don't want people looking at my rag-a-muffin wondering if she gets any attention.

Hope all went great for the first days (and goes great for those coming up!)

Brandie
