The people at the early childhood office called today. They got my letter. It seems the bill I was sent...the one that stated that I owed them $300 some dollars...the one that told me I need to pay it NOW...was actually, ta da, a credit.

I asked how I misunderstood "Balance due on all accounts: $324.00" Oh, it was ($324.00). I was supposed to notice the parenthesis and know that they meant I have a credit. Holy crap.

So, here's my question, why have they been sending me letter after letter after letter telling me I have credits instead of just refunding the money? The gal told me they'll send me my money in a couple of weeks.

I guess it's good news. And, I'm not losing my mind...I really did pay them everything on time.

Geez...sometimes things just don't make sense, eh? I'm glad the mistake was in my favor!!!
