In reply to: Christine 's message, "I have to say that I have never likes Tom Cruise at all..." on 15:11:28 08/04/06 Fri

I've never "gotten" his brand of sexy. He's great looking, but he's never appealed to me. However, I do think he's perhaps a more "real" person than Tom Cruise! He's a little too old-school faith-wise for me...reminds me of my friend Kathy's family. They drove 100 miles round-trip every Sunday to attend a Latin mass! That doesn't mean I disagree with what he believes. It is possible to be a good person with a drinking problem...I know a lot of people like that!

Hey, while we're gossiping, do you think Marie Osmond really tried to kill herself? She's always been fragile mentally. I don't think she should have ever gone into show business! Seriously!

She had eating disorders as a teenager. Several times she was hospitalized for "exhaustion". In other words, mental breakdowns. Then she married Mr. Waaay Wrong...and divorced him.

I remember after she had her first baby...I know she was dealing with depression, but she went on and on about how it ruined her shoulders. Her shoulders??? Have you ever heard any other woman on the planet complain that pregnancy made her shoulders wider???? I thought that was pretty danged bizarre!

Then the whole leaving-the-kids-with-the-nanny-and-taking-off thing after her last baby. I know it was depression, but still, fragile!

And then there was the mysterious fire in her house last year.

When I read about another round of mental issues in her life I wonder if those women who gave her their babies have second thoughts! One time I saw her on a telethon and she was talking about how one of her kid's mom's heard she had adopted children and contacted her to offer her the baby...I suppose there are some young women who either figure it's a ticket to easy street for their kid, or who figure some of the glory will rub off on them. I dunno.

It is ODD that I've never seen a family photo of them! Donny has family pics all over the place. Even photos of his son's wedding...I've never seen anything on Marie. Makes me wonder if things aren't as peaches and cream as she would like everyone to think.

On one hand I feel sorry for her. Right after she got married the family went bankrupt and her husband blew a knee or something and his proball career went away. So, she had to go back to work. I know she's said she's resentful of that.

Aren't we all, lol! How many working moms, if given the chance, WOULDN'T stay home???

Merrill is bipolar. Donny has panic disorder. She has depression. That's a lot of major mental illness in one family!
