The dentist appointment went so much better than expected. They had scheduled out a couple of hours and I think from start to finish it took only about one hour. Ian had to have 2 cavities filled that were between the teeth and then a spacer fit and glued on. Poor kid is like me and his dad and it took a lot of shots to actually numb his mouth and after the third set he asked if there was something less sharp he could use as a needle. The numbing gel wasn't helping. He also got gas and he is very funny on gas.

The dentist was surprised to see me there and felt bad that there was no baby. He told me to go eat enchaladas, he was very funny and told me that if I would wait until lunch he would take me to lunch! It was 4 hours from lunch but then he got hungry and made the other patients parents laugh.

The midwife and her assistant came at 1. Now I have been processing this information for a few hours now and I don't know how to feel about this anymore and find myself sad and confused. The bio-physical sonogram said that the baby was fantastic. The fluid and placenta are grade 1. The new machine now says that my due date should be August 8. I totally don't understand that. So "technically" I am no longer ovrdue I am not even due yet! This baby is measuring at 41 1/2 weeks and is over 9 pounds. How is it even remotly possible that even a machine would think I am not due yet?

There are more than a few things that upset me about this. One is silly and petty, the cost. We are paying out of pocket for things llike the sonograms and because of this new due date I may need another sonogram in a week and that means another $85-$100 cash out of pocket in less than 2 weeks. One of the other is Rob's work. He took the rest of this week off as vacation, what about next week? I just know people are going to think I am the resident nutcase wife after this. I have never had a due date change like this.

The other thing that really upsets me is size. I have done big babies and as sad as this sounds - - it isn't fun and I don't like doing it. If he gains 1/2 a pound to a pound a week we are looking at 11-12 pounds. Oh my heavens, I just don't want to do that. How horrible is that of me to say? Now everyone is thinking my original dates were off and I ovulated late- - 2 weeks later than everyone thought. I really don't think so.

So here I sit more confused than I have ever been in my entire life and I have no idea what to do anymore. I am way too sad to cry or be upset, I am just stunned and I am barely more dialted than I was last week. It is just like my body refuses to cooperate and birth this baby.
