The week before he was due we were told 8lbs and we were expecting an 8-9lb baby. Nope 6lbs. 6oz. They base that weight measurement on the length of the femur and the circumfrance of the head. So I have long skinny kids whose weights are WAAAAAYYYYYY off the mark. You have a history of big babies though so I understand your concern. Just know that u/s machines tend to be off alot and IME over estimate weight rather than under estimate it. A friend here was just induced because her baby was supposed to be almost 10lbs and she was only a little over 7 and ended up on oxygen.

I don't know what to tell you about feeling confused, but I completely understand. With Hannah I felt like NO one understood how I could spend 11 weeks trying not to have a baby and then have to be induced. I hated telling people we finally induced because then I felt like everyone though I was was faking it or just insane for the previous 11 weeks. My OB told me it happens a lot and that most of his patients have something they are obsessing over and worried what everyone will think. My only comfort is that once the baby is here it all seems to fade into those distant unimportant memories. The child is the most important factor in the process and they tend to take center stage.
