假設，我是一位慣常在網上非法下載流行歌曲的港人。
假設，我不單止經常下載歌曲，後來因為在網上的下載論壇遇到一班「志同道合」的人，於是我甚至會上載歌曲，把一些借回來的CD，整隻轉為MP3檔案，放到網上去供大家下載。
假設，我如此做了好幾年，樂此不疲，且一直平安無事。雖然政府不斷宣傳，指非法下載乃違法，但我一於好少理，照做如儀。
假設，有一天我如常地上網上載時，熒幕忽然彈出了一個警告視窗，指我正在非法下載，可能會被檢控云云。我心想：「全港個個人都下載，點會咁橋捉到我吖？」因此我一於好少理，話之岉筆i我，繼續下載。
假設，數星期後我收到一張「傳票」，要我某時某日去法庭報到，因為我已被控侵權。我感到十分焦急：「唔係啩！真倒霉！咁而家點算？」馬上找朋友介紹律師給我。
假設，律師不久之後告訴我，控方（即版權持有人，乜乜唱片業協會）願意庭外和解，但要求我賠償某個金額，大概也是像徵式數千元吧！……我呼了一口氣，連忙答允和解。
假設，類似的情況發生在你身上，你也一定會願意和解吧！但現實中，居然有人不肯庭外和解……真令人難以置信！
