在街上見到新出版的《東TOUCH》,封面黑底金字的,十分高雅。赫然發現是六百期紀念號,馬上掏腰包,買了兩本;一本看,一本儲。
一本周刊出到六百期,絕對不是一件易事。近年有釵h釵h的雜誌周刊,出不到一百期就關門大吉;似乎一百期(大約兩年)是一個關口,捱得過兩年,就應該在銷量上和廣告收入都上了軌道。
可是,去到二百期、三百期左右,即創刊四至六年吧,就會有另一個關口。此時雜誌銷量會開始停滯甚至下滑,主要是由於其他新雜誌的衝擊。今時今日,報攤上咁多選擇,有甚麼理由要期期買同一本雜誌?因此忠實讀者相當難尋。以往的長期讀者,會因為年紀大了或是種種的心態轉變,改看其他類型雜誌;至於後生一代,又往往會偏向選買較新創刊的雜誌。所以,銷量會很自然地下調;此時如沒有任何拯救動作,雜誌會走上所謂「陰乾」之路,未必能慶祝五百期。
假使雜誌痛定思痛,馬上在內容上作出大改革(通常也會涉及人事上的改組,為雜誌換腦袋嘛),重新定位,令人耳目一新,那就應該可以順利過關,留住舊讀者並吸納新顧客。
《東TOUCH》六百期,你們做到了,在此恭喜恭喜!
