當附有一百萬像素鏡頭的手提電話正開始流行、未算普及之時，二百萬像素的機種已在市面出現了！
大約五年前，我擁有的第一部數碼相機，就是二百萬像素的。當時的二百萬像素，在數碼相機來說已是頂級，而可拍照的手提電話只是「未來產品」、仍未面世。
作為家庭用相機，其實二百萬像素已足夠應付需要，打印出來的 3R、4R 相片不會有太大問題。但科技不斷進步，廠商推陳出新，到今時今日，二百萬像素數碼相機已成為低檔次機種，四、五百萬像素才是基本要求了！
可是在手提電話來說，二百萬像素就是一個新突破。簡單來說，有了二百萬像素拍攝弁鄋漱熅驉A你就可以正正式式一機二用，不必另外攜帶數碼相機出街，因為用它拍出來的照片，質素上絕對有保證。相較之下，以往一百萬像素以下手機拍出來的東西，都只能玩玩下，用途不大。
據知二百萬像素手機，約售六千多元，值不值這個價錢見仁見智。但有一事可以肯定，二百萬像素手機跟二百萬像素相機一樣，只會是過渡期產物；明年今日，大家用的會是三、四百萬像素的手機！
