較早前寫過一篇文章《Quota》，指各行各業的銷售人員都看 Quota 過日子，必須做到一定 Quota 才可保住飯碗。其實，就算做到管理階層，也是一樣的。
朋友 M 最近找我訴苦。他於一家著名商業機構任職中層管理，去年公司大肆擴充，他的部門也增聘了一些人手。可是於今年年初，他就收到高層的訊息，謂由於擴充後業績未如理想，過完農曆年後就要「做嘢」。資深的 M 馬上明白，所謂「做嘢」就是要節流，而節流的最有效手法就是削減人手。
M 心中有數，早就有了心理準備，打算於過年後把三個人名交上去。於是，那三位員工在二月底就被通知：三月不用上班了。
M 滿以為解決了問題。然而，M 的上司在三月初找他訓話說：「老細話仲未交夠 Quota！你個部門要再減兩個人！」無可奈何地，M 又遣散了兩位員工。
故事未完。到了三月中，上司又找 M 入房說：「唉，條數計唔掂，老細話你要再減多兩個。」結果，前前後後 M 要辭退七名員工；回想去年擴充時，他也只不過增聘了四名人手而已。
到底 M 交夠 Quota 未？真係冇人夠膽講！
