已故科幻小說大師艾西莫夫（Issac Asimov）的經典作《基地三部曲》，最近推出了全新的中譯版；不消說，當然是台灣那邊出的啦！
雖云是「三部曲」，但其實整個《基地》系列，絕不止三部。它包括了「正傳」三部（即大家較熟知的《基地》、《基地與帝國》、《第二基地》等）、「後傳」兩部（《基地邊緣》、《基地與地球》）以及「前傳」兩部（《基地前沿》、《基地推進》）。
以上七部書，全出自艾西莫夫親筆所著。他於一九九二年逝世，其後又有別的作家獲得授權，撰寫《基地》系列的「外傳」三部。然而，「外傳」始終不是原來那杯茶──如果由別人續寫而非倪匡親著的衛斯理故事，你會有興趣看嗎？
作為《基地》迷，我是把所有「正傳」、「後傳」、「前傳」以至「外傳」的英文版都買齊了，而除「外傳」外都已一一讀畢。今回台灣那邊推出全新中譯本，令人眼前一亮，好想全部買下，珍而藏之。
可是台灣版的書，在港發行量有限，較難找得齊全套。此外，台版書極貴，每本賣近百元！要我花上近七百元買一套小說，真的要三思。
