聽聞明天（七月十二日）是中一派位放榜。本來此事與我無關，但朋友的姪女小 Q 剛好是小六學生，所以我才會「聽聞」。
我又聽聞小 Q 的成績向來名列前茅，由小一到小五都考第一名，因此校方對她寄望甚殷。由於她那間小學並沒有直升中學的，故早前填志願時，師長們就極力游說小 Q 的父母，謂頭幾個志願一定要填頂級名校，點都要博一博云云。
所謂「望子成龍」，今時今日在女兒身上也絕對適用。於是，第一志願自然就是「聖乜乜」，第二志願「瑪物物」，諸如此類、如此類推；反正城中九龍區的著名女校，一個不漏地成為了小 Q 的「十大志願」──應該說是小 Q 父母和師長們的志願。
──其實，有沒有人問過小 Q？到底小 Q 真正的志願，是甚麼？
不過，一切已經太遲。在耳濡目染之下，如今就算走去問小 Q，她回答你的志願，也一定是「聖乜乜」、「瑪物物」，以父母師長的志願為她的志願；她一定不會答你說：「我想入一間中文中學」。
我聽聞了這件事，只有一個感想：一係唔好生仔，如果生了，都係早啲掟走吤h外國讀書！
