前陣子，天天「雷暴警告」。這陣子，日日「酷熱警告」。
「雷暴警告」，似乎歷史比較悠久；而「酷熱警告」，則好像是近十年才出現的東西。印象中，我細個時的盛夏，動輒攝氏三十六、三十七度，但當年並沒有甚麼「酷熱警告」。如今嘛，去到三十二、三十三度，天文台就已急忙發出「酷熱警告」，生怕發遲了警告，萬一有老人家熱到出事，會成為眾矢之的。
其實，除了「酷熱警告」外，就連「三色暴雨警告」（黃、紅、黑），都十分「年輕」。也閉O現代天文預測的科技發達了，於是乎很多特殊氣象都可以預先警告。
記得初到美國留學，在學生宿舍的手冊內，看到一段名為「Tornado Warning」的說明。起初英文不好，不知道 Tornado 何解；後來一查，方知是龍捲風也！原來當地不時會有龍捲風吹襲的，而來襲前會有「龍捲風警告」發出！頓時對這「龍捲風警告」十分好奇：會否好像「空襲警報」般，全市有警號長鳴？又會否像香港的八號風球般，宣布停課？聽說「龍捲風警告」下，要躲進地下室㗎喎……
可惜，留學四年，「龍捲風警告」一次都沒有。
