你見過聖誕老人嗎？我見過。
幾歲的時候，父母帶我去佐敦那間永安百貨，就在門口第一次見到了聖誕老人。他一臉笑呵呵地，從大紅袋中摷出了一樣東西。當我還期待着那是甚麼好玩具（如跑車、手槍、超人等）時，卻發現他交到我手中的是：綿羊。
──就是那種你一按扁牠的身體，就會有「嘰嘰」發出來的塑膠綿羊。
自此發現了殘酷的現實：傳說中（或電視中）的聖誕老人，會送來又大盒又好玩的玩具；但現實中的聖誕老人，只會送來很Cheap的東西──Cheap這個概念和用詞，自然是後來人大了才加上去的。
小學時代的那個聖誕老人更Cheap。每年聖誕慶祝會，在一輪例牌的聖詩獻唱、馬槽戲劇、天才表演之後，又會有例牌的聖誕老人出場，說着例牌的台詞：「各位小朋友，你哋好！我係聖誕老人，從好遠的北極來㗎，仲帶咗好多禮物送俾你哋呀！」
小一、小二時，還有點天真地相信他的話。到了小三，就已經半信半疑，心想：「有乜禮物吖？年年都係嗰盒餅乾加兩粒糖！」
小四那年，更知道了那個聖誕老人，是高我一級的同學扮的。那同學的名字，叫胡渭康。於是正式宣告聖誕老人的神話破滅。
