香港人，愈來愈喜歡玩「倒數」。
大除夕夜玩「倒數」，無可厚非。早年，人群只會逼在中環蘭桂坊一帶倒數；打從「出事」之後，大家終於醒覺香港需要更多更大的倒數場地，故近年又多了銅鑼灣時代廣場、尖沙咀廣東道、西九奧海城等幾個倒數熱點，年年除夕例必逼滿人！
不知是誰的主意，覺得單單一個除夕倒數不夠玩，於是連平安夜也玩起倒數來！這可能是香港獨有的；請看電視新聞報道世界各地的聖誕活動，哪有外國人會玩倒數的？唔多覺喎。
但香港人就唔理三七廿一，總之邊度有熱鬧、有得玩，就會全家大細總動員；觀乎今年平安夜，整條廣東道就萬人空巷，變成了倒數場地。但點解連聖誕節都要倒數？聖誕節有倒數的傳統或意義麼？誰會深究？
我參與過不少朋友的生日派對，未曾試過會在派對上玩倒數的；頂多是，當大家望望手表，發現剛好過半夜十二點、已進入壽星生日的正日時，大家會起哄舉杯祝「生日快樂」。但似乎沒有必要嚴陣以待，在半夜前逐秒倒數吧！
聖誕慶祝是耶穌的生日派對，而十二月二十五日並非正日，乃後世定下的。故個人認為，聖誕倒數沒有甚麼意思，根本是為倒數而倒數吧了！
