購買了數碼相機，隨機附送一張儲存相片用的記憶卡，容量只有 32MB。
根據說明書上所述，若以 Fine（精細）模式拍攝大小約一百萬像素（即 1,280 X 960）的照片，則 32MB 的記憶卡只可儲存約五十張照片而已。
以往菲林相機時代，一筒菲林都有三十六張啦，故五十張其實少得可憐！32MB 的記憶卡，只能說聊勝於無，實在不能不另購一張。
於是一不做二不休，重鎚出擊買了張 512MB 的，可儲存七百多張的百萬像素精細照片；如此，去旅行的話，帶一張卡便足夠了。
據知，容量高達 1GB（即 1,024MB）及 2GB（即 2,048MB）的同類型記憶卡已經推出，其大小比一片香口膠還要小、還要薄。不難想像，如此發展下去，一卡可以有高達數十 GB 的日子絕對不遠。
大家玩了十幾二十年電腦、數碼產品，記憶體單位由以往的 KB 到 MB 到 GB，已然是超級大躍進。但一直都覺得這些單位很抽象，從來沒有人可以答到我：要記得一個人的生日，需要幾多 KB 的記憶？要完整記得一部小說的情節，需要多少 MB？人的大腦，又總共有幾多 GB？
