前文提要：辦公室中養了頭倉鼠「肥妹」，獨處一缸中，吃飽就睡、睡飽就吃；旁人見了都問：「一隻好悶喎！為何不為她找個伴？」
我必詳細解釋道：「如果養多一頭雄性的，那不出數星期，她就會大肚。大肚期間，母倉鼠為了保護腹中骨肉，甚有攻擊性，故必須把兩公婆分開來養，一籠變兩籠。
「當十多頭倉鼠 BB 出世後，起初不錯是很得意，但不出兩個月他們發育完成後，便有生育能力；若繼續養在一起，鼠數分分鐘以幾何形式增加！要避免生生不息，只有逐隻鼠分開籠來養──試問在辦公室，點養十幾籠呀？屋企都唔得啦！
「話說回來，如果養多一頭雌性的，由於她們本身有地盤觀念，新加入的倉鼠會被視作入侵者，於是同性相拒，必馬上發生惡鬥，更往往要把對手咬死才會罷休！所以，有人形容倉鼠是『天煞孤星』，一點不錯。」
大家聽完，多半會搖頭歎息道：「咁坒u係好慘。」亦有人會質疑：真的慘麼？不用去覓食，不用怕天敵；不必付出，不必競爭……這不是幸福麼？
作為主人，我不予置評。子非鼠，焉知鼠之樂？焉知鼠之苦？
