看本報副刊《3721》，得知有兩位香港人在日本的「高達模型大賽」勇奪最高殊榮，我作為高達模型的長期擁戴者，亦與有榮焉。
「高達」係乜？不用我解釋了吧！由七十年代起一直到現在，凡是於香港長大的男孩子，都一定知道何謂「高達」；就算是女孩子，也甚有可能受身邊的男生、男友影響，被逼接觸過「高達」。
這個日本動畫史上最著名的超級機械人，至今已出了 N 咁多代，拍過 N 咁多部動畫，由一九七八年的原作《機動戰士高達》，到續篇《Z》、《ZZ》、《0080》、《0083》、《F91》、《馬沙之反擊》等，及外傳《G》、《V》、《Wing》、《X》、《Turn-A》以至去年的《Seed》等等，絕對是「親屬繁衍，不能盡錄」也。如果你弄得清楚當中的來龍去脈，奉勸一句：以同樣精神魄力去讀書，做會考狀元容乜易！
但俾心機讀書的始終是少數，而迷上高達的男孩子則人多勢眾，更代代相傳。我那一代是最早的高達迷，中學時的零用錢都奉獻給高達模型，買到床下底堆滿幾十盒！但當年若告訴我，砌高達模型可以揚名立萬，真係打死我都唔信！
