總以為，要養所謂純種犬或名種犬，就必須光顧寵物店或狗場，而且所費不菲。
以雪橇犬為例，我經常留意牠們在寵物店中的行情；基本上一頭三個月大的雪橇犬，叫價坐底七千元，冇走雞。
但有釵h例子，是可以一文不花，就養到這些名種犬！實情是，愈來愈多名犬被主人放逐街頭，就連雪橇都一樣有得執！
有人在街上拾得一頭小雪橇，見牠病得可憐，帶到獸醫處；因牠後腿折斷，需花費數千元才可救治。事主在經濟上無能為力，但恰巧獸醫診所中有另一位愛犬之人，願意出錢醫好該雪橇，條件是：他只負責醫，醫好後不負責養，皆因他家中早已養有好幾頭大型犬了。結果雪橇痊癒後，由獸醫轉介，終於找到一頭好人家收養。
別以為這是特別情況。有關街上拾得雪橇的故事，我還聽過好幾個。我亦有朋友在街上，拾得史納莎、曲架、日本柴犬！緣何這些名種犬，都變為流浪犬了？趨勢是，太多人養這些名犬前不考慮周詳，結果只養幾個月就後悔，或發覺實在養不來，只好放棄。
說到底，養寵物嘛，有沒有錢不是問題，有沒有心才最重要。
