前陣子，一位好友到台灣去渡假幾天。我問他跟誰結伴去，答曰：「一行九人，網友來的。」
網友，一種新興的朋友品種。以往，我們的朋友不外乎來自幾個源頭：街坊類、同學類、同事類（或工作、生意上的朋友類）、教會及組織類、朋友的朋友類；基本上，以上五類已概括了我們九成以上的朋友。至於甚麼奇遇類、搭訕類的，始終不多。
網友類是近年一大新類別，是上世代筆友類的重大發展。它有兩大特性：（一）未見面先交朋友；（二）跨越地域界限。
還有一個額外特性，就是網友間的利害關係，相對其他朋友品種比較小。換言之，與網友結交時，有些人可以完全拋卻自己在日常生活中的身分，表現得更真我；當然不能一概而論，有些人反會完全戴上另一副面具，表現得更假更虛偽。
最新的趨勢，網友類已走出虛擬世界，而在現實中形成一種新族群。像我朋友這種與網友一同去旅遊的活動，對他來說已十分平常，平日約出來飯聚打波已不在話下。
至於我自己，網友亦遍布中日美法，假若能在現實中相聚，乃人生一大快事。
