我向來不是足球迷，但作為一個「隨波逐流」的人士，前陣子也逼令自己投入一下歐洲國家盃的熱潮；甚至更群埋一班「英國躉」，齊齊約埋睇波。
對於英國隊我說不上有甚麼好感，那晚分組賽英國大戰克羅地亞，我就暗暗希望英國輸波入不了八強，因為我有一個偉大的理由：周刊同事剛寫了一篇克羅地亞的旅遊稿，如果克隊爆冷入八強，那份稿子就出得更名正言順了！
那晚跟五六位「英國躉」們到了一位「超級英國躉」的家中「作客」睇波。克羅地亞先入球，只我一人歡呼，其他人則在詛咒；後來英國入球，全人類歡呼，我卻不敢做聲，只微笑剝花生。最後英國反超前，他們高興得死去活來，我嘛，早就躲在沙發一角，以免球迷生事殃及無辜。不過，只要是英國勝出，我的人身安全是沒有問題的。
可我卻學精了。下一場八強大戰英國對葡萄牙，我絕不看好英國，況且主辦國「必入」四強已是一種「陽謀論」，故此我決定不再與這班「英國躉」行動，寧可自己一個人躲在家中看。
結果，英國輸十二碼，慘烈。我欣喜之餘，覺得自己這個決定實在太對了！
