前陣子提到過引起圍棋熱的日本漫畫《棋魂》，本來已借了一套打算在家細鴃A殊不知半途殺出個程咬金──這個程咬金真的很「金」，因為它是《鋼之鍊金術師》。
早前見同文陳永康兄於《日本風情畫》寫過這套漫畫，大聲疾呼謂中文正寫應是《鋼之煉金術師》；極之同意他的觀點，不重覆了。但該文卻引起了我對這套漫畫的注意：帊搚r料都睇，一定係好嘢！
於是租了前四集來看，一看上癮，後面幾集索性自己買了。現時中文版只出到第七集，但在日本已出了 N 本特集、專書，對此套漫畫、動畫詳加分析──甚麼？還有動畫版麼？馬上又四出搜刮，結果又給我找到台版 DVD，收錄二十四集，據知日本己播到三十多集了。
故事中的所謂「煉金術」，不止煉金，甚至可以煉人、煉靈魂，相當神奇；想落，其實等同《哈利波特》中近乎萬能的巫術。兩個十來歲的兄弟，希望藉着煉金術煉回早逝的母親，從而引起連串悲劇及遭遇。
故此，《鋼之鍊金術師》受歡迎的原因跟《哈利波特》有點類似：大家都對現實不滿，大家都想擁有魔法、煉金術！
