最近帶家中的兩頭寵物兔兔，到「愛護動物協會」位於西貢的診所做絕育手術。
動手術的是位外籍獸醫，典型的金髮藍眼、高大威猛，但護理小動物時卻細心體貼，兩頭平日作威作福的兔兔，一落入他那「柔情」的手中也顯得乖乖的，順服不已。
手術十分順利，全無後遺症，兔兔只一兩天就完全恢復狀態。難得的是，收費比一般外間的獸醫診所便宜得多。這才體會到，原來「愛護動物協會」真是一個不錯的機構。
後來收到「愛護動物協會」的會訊，內有一段短短的獸醫專訪，睇真啲，居然正是那位幫我兔動手術的鬼佬獸醫。看他的個人履歷：英國人，於當地畢業後不久即來港加入「愛護動物協會」，至今已四、五年。其志願是在一個小社區內當獸醫，看來像西貢這家小診所，真的十分適合他發揮。
內心不禁好奇：到底一個遠在英國的小伙子，為何會千里迢迢到香港來當獸醫？背後會否有一段特別的故事？該篇短訪沒有交代。不過，獸醫的確是故事的好泉源，剛巧我最近也在看一本講獸醫的漫畫，叫做《Wild Life》，主角也正是個金毛小子呢！
