除了的士行業出現了「折扣黨」外，其實「折扣黨」在日常生活中早就存在。實不相瞞，在下也是其中一員。
比方說，最近發現我的電腦「命不久矣」，於是開始四方搜羅新機型號資料。當我看中了其中一款後，並不急於在店中購買，反而是八面打聽，有沒有朋友、同事認識有人在該牌子的公司任職，看看能否拿到員工折扣。
皇天不負有心人，一位同事說他的表妹好像是為該牌子做 PR 的！發達了！心想：該機款原價近九千元，若打個八折，只需七千餘元有交易，節省近二千！若然有七折的話……嘩！愈想愈興奮，天天催促同事找他幾那位幾年冇見的表妹。
好不容易找到表妹，卻謂她早已轉了工，現在只為一家 MP3 機做 PR，問我們還有沒有興趣。對 MP3 興趣不大，可是「折扣黨」誓不罷休，繼續向表妹窮追猛打，請她向舊同事再問有關電腦折扣的事。數天之後，表妹回覆曰：「有得平五百元。」
五舊水！那跟先前預計的七折、八折，簡直是天壤之別！做為一個有骨氣的「折扣黨」，這區區五百元的折扣還真不放在眼內；算了，不買！（《折扣黨》之一）
