由史匹堡監製的科幻電視劇《Taken》（港譯《幽浮人種》）今夏在亞洲播放，有關媒體自然又以外星人炒作了一些話題，以配合劇集宣傳。
Star Movies 頻道在今年四月，抽訪了全亞洲共八萬三千位成年人，探討亞洲人對外星人的看法。結果有高達九成被訪者，相信外星人的確存在，且更潛伏在我們身邊。近一半人認為，外星人確曾綁架過人類進行實驗。
有趣的是，似乎台灣人最能接受外星人的概念，相信有外星人的達九成八之多！另近八成同意外星人會帶走地球人，更有近一半自認能辨別出外星人。但是在「外星人是友善的」一項，台灣被訪者中只有四成人同意，遠少於中國內地的七成及香港的五成六；台灣人的小島心態可見一斑，但求自我保護，寧可以敵意來看待不明來意的訪客！
另一個亦由 Star Movies 舉行的網上投票，則以「誰是外星人假扮的地球人？」作為題目，結果亦十分搞笑。第一位是愛因斯坦，得票率達四成八！亞軍則是大衞高柏飛。這兩個賽果皆正常。
至於第三位，居然是李登輝！第四位濱崎步，第五位碧咸！
若由我來選香港代表，我會選董太──她真的是來自在另一個世界的！
