問題：每年一月一日，新一年的第一天，最多人做的事情是甚麼？答案可能是：睡覺；睡它一整天。
你看世界各地的大城市，每年除夕夜都會有數以十萬計的人，聚集到當地的地標廣場、鬧市街心，大開戶外倒數派對，狂歡一番；就算倒數過後、煙花賞完，千千萬萬的人還是會賴在街上不走，繼續熱鬧起哄，通宵達旦，不到天亮死不休。
試問，這陶多多的人在一夜狂歡、一夜不眠、一煲盡地之後，於翌晨返家，怎會不精疲力竭？定必睡到日上三竿，甚至日落西山！
新年流流瞓到黃朝白晏，老人家們肯定睇唔過眼；可惜沒有辦法，現代人愈來愈喜好這種「除夕狂歡，元旦狂瞓」的迎接新年方式，休再提甚麼「一年之計在於乜，一日之計在於物」了。
於是乎，一月一日白天的街道上，往往都會特別甯靜、靜得驚人、人影寥寥，與前一夜的萬人空巷形成強烈對比。彷彿在一夜之間，所有那些狂歡的人都自空氣中消失了──就像童話中追隨魔笛手的笛音上街的孩子們，一夜間蹤影杳然。
到大家真正睡醒時，已然是一月二日；你伸一伸懶腰，全身痠痛，不禁問：「為啥好像沒放過假似的？」
