聽說，同文《焚書集》的作者張帝莊要走了。一直以來，有很多人向我打聽，問到底張帝莊是誰；我現在答你：「他是一個文筆甚好的小老百姓。」
早於三四年前，當時我在主導為一本周刊搞改革，正求才若渴，四方打聽有否文筆好的記者；有人就向我強烈推薦某報專題記者張帝莊。嘗試聯絡，卻側聞他已掛冠而去，一個人寄居深圳，暫無意找工作云云。
幾年後，在《星島》終於見着張帝莊，與他做同事。向他求證：當年真的去了深圳住？避債乎？包二奶乎？答案是：「冇工做嘛，上面租個單位幾百蚊，可以捱耐啲，結果住咗半年。」我瞪眼張口之餘，他又說：「本來諗住在上面試下搞出版的。」
噢，為理想的人。不久，他娶了妻，買了樓，大概也成了負資產一族；所以他默默地做着極不合他性情的飲食版採訪── 一個絕不介意長期捱深圳一元飯盒的人，點做飲食版呀？
後來他轉做名人專訪、寫專欄，以為合他性情了；不，原來他喜歡寫小人物、寫流浪貓狗，所以他決定離開了。能重拾理想，應該為他高興。
有才華，卻不求聞達，正是他難能可貴之處；所以他不會出名，所以大家不會知道他是誰。
