Subject: biting

I have recently adopted (5 days ago) a deaf irish setter, 4 years old. She was living in a small dog run with limited human contact, maybe once a day to feed. I have a problem in that she is biting just about everyone but me. She is not being startled and doesn't show agressive signs, but is coming behind people and biting them from the back. Is there a reason this is happening? Is she trying to find her spot in the "pack"? Any ideas or suggestions on how to make her stop? We have been visiting family and she bit everyone but me! I need any help or suggestions available before my spouse says the dog has to go. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions.
