nipping for attention? If it's the former, the only thing I can advise is to consult a behaviorist. If it's the latter, then I would approach this several ways:

First, don't give her the opportunity to do it. Don't take her visiting, (board her, if necessary) or take her out with other people until you get this behavior under control.

Second, ignore the behavior. Don't turn around and acknowledge her for doing it, simply ignore it. If she doesn't get the results she's looking for (attention), the behavior will eventually extinguish. (It may briefly get worse before it gets better, but if you stick with it it'll eventually go away.)

Third, teach her an alternate way to ask for attention - for example, teach her to sit for petting. You teach her, then have your spouse practice with her, then a trusted neighbor/friend, and gradually increase her circle of "friends".
