Subject: Help my deaf dog has aggression that is scaring me.....

We have a soon to be 1 year old male, deaf catahoula. We have had him since birth and he is very sweet, but some behaviors are beginning to scare me. We have 3 other dogs, his brother, a 2 year old male and a 3 year old female. He is very food aggressive. He doesn't let you touch him and even growls sometimes when you stand near him. I have tried reaching down to touch his bowl and he has lunged to bite. This scares me. He also has fought with his brother and our other male and the last time I could'nt get him to stop. Thank goodness there were no serious injuries. He doesn't like to be restrained in any way either. He becomes very fearful it seems and tries to wriggle out of whatever restraint there is. My concerns are that the aggression will only intensify if we don't deal with it and I am afraid that we will have to have him put down if we can't get it under control, but I don't know how to deal with it. I think that the issues are mostly behavioral, but because of his aggression I don't know where to begin. Do I just call in a professional trainer? Please help, I don't want to have any of my dogs seriously hurt by a dog fight and I don't want to have him put to sleep, because I know he is a smart boy.
Thanks in advance. Please e-mail me directly.
