Subject: Deaf border collie needs good home

Hi there, I am a veterinarian who as a young impressionable vet student adopted a deaf border collie with a broken leg. Very sad puppy but his leg has healed (he still limps occasionally) and like all border collies is very fun, full of energy, and very willing to please. I love him to death, but this is my predicament- I am intern and work 12-14 hour days, do not have the time nor energy to properly train and care for him. I truly believe he needs a better home, someone who would work on signing signals with him, who could devote more one on one time with him. My intentions were good when I first got him, but now I believe he deserves something better, someone who will do frisbee or agility or something with him. The poor guy has resorted to herding my cats around the house and needs exercise!
I am very serious about finding a good home for him and would not just let anyone take him. That is why I am here. I currently live in the upstate New York area and if any of you on these discussion pages are interested or know someone who is, please e-mail me. I can provide a picture if needed and more info.
Thank you,
Angie Hardy, DVM
